So I can finally stop thinking about spending $400+ pesos on shoes. I'm not the type to spend obscene amounts of money on anything. For one, I'm extremely cheap, and two I just don't see the point sometimes. Some items I have that I've spent no more than a hundred dollars on hold up better than the designer items I've saved for. But something about these Acne Spring 2010 sandals makes me want to blow some hard earned cash. Seriously. Dying over here!

braided.

I've never been one to pay any attention to trends in beauty during the various fashion weeks. I pay more attention to the clothes themselves, because in reality I'm a very basic girl. I barely ever wear makeup, and if my hair is in anything other than a hair tie, it's straight, no curls or anything else very fancy. So during the shows for Spring 2010 I couldn't help but become surprised by the attention I gave to beauty details, especially the hair style that prevailed throughout this particular season: the classic braid.

I was so inspired that I myself have been wearing the braid for several days now (a la Alexander Wang), and loving every second of it. Some of the styles are so easy to do and maintain, you all should give it a try and tell me how it goes!

BTW: NYC in 5 days! Eeeek!

reinventing the tshirt by: eighteenth

Where in theory I'm drawn to outrageous designs and color galore, in reality I'm just a jeans and tshirt girl. On any given occasion you'll find my closet filled with flats, cardigans, skinny jeans, and my staple item: the v neck tshirt. It's often times very hard for me to find 'the perfect tee', partly because I'm extremely picky about fit, color, texture, and price points. On the one hand I've been known to pay good money for quality, I've never been partial to paying an obscene amount of money simply for a name. On the rare occasion I can find a tee that bares originality and comes a decent price, I'm known to buy as many as possible.

New York city based brand Eighteenth just released pictures of their forthcoming Spring 2010 collection dedicated to reinventing the classic tshirt. Drastic asymmetrical cuts are complimented by the soft jersey of the tee's in basic black and white. Perfect for the summer months (the designs are amazing and you're skin can actually breathe in them), Eighteenth is available right now online at Anica and will soon be ready for purchase online and in store at Oak, Bona Drag and Des Kohan. The price points are affordable - especially against heavy hitter diffusion lines such as T by Alexander Wang draining pockets - and the quality of the clothing is beyond superb. Viktor & Rolf's Spring 2010 show was beyond amazing. I'm really glad to see their tulle gowns on crack in the pages of Dazed & Confused, quite possibly one of the only magazines appropriate enough to showcase how unique their creations are. Sometimes I wish the whole "florals for spring" thing would whither and die along with other things I detest like liquid leggings and the misuse of the word 'couture'. Unfortunately there's no denying the stunning H&M Garden Collection. As obvious as the whole trend is, it's ladylike and charming, two qualities I happen to fancy. There goes a paycheck...[trenddoll]

tranny chic.

I love androgynous models, or as I like to call them: tranny chic. They can be glamorous or tough, but still manage to stay impeccable beautiful. Iris Strubegger is the face of the Spring/Summer 2010 campaign for Francesco Scognamiglio looking like pure tranny chic perfection. Just look at those legs, HOLY CRAP! [fashiongonerogue]

I wish I could walk out of my house in a lace bra and panties with a matching cover all. Only problem is with the sub zero temperature making it's way to my hometown plus the inevitable blank stares I'll rack up, I'm a little weary of getting naked for fashions sake. But I CAN see this on Lady Gags, mostly because she's allergic to pants and seems to be inviting everyone in on the pants-less fun. Maybe the bras and panties aren't an option, but the cardigans, sheer tops, and tanks with braided embellishments are staples I'd make room in my closet for. How about you? [stylebubble, claretough]

hellz bellz spring 2010.

I swear, Twitter is the best thing to ever happen to my life. I find out information ten times faster than before I knew Twitter existed. Now instead of scouring the internet for interesting information, I can just follow all the brands, celebrities, friends and family I love and get the inside scope in 140 characters or less. Thank Jesus for Twitter!

Just a few minutes ago, while I was yelling at my television and tweeting (or is it twatting?) my friend Kevin, I received an interesting tweet from Hellz Bellz which led me to Limitè Magazine's Guide to Spring 2010. The guide then led me to a peek at *SURPRISE* the Hellz Bellz Spring 2010 collection! This is both a good and bad thing. Good because I'll have ample time to count my pennies, cross my fingers, and say my prayers long enough to get the goods, and bad because the collection just makes me want sunnier days and warmer weather that much more. I'm glad Hellz is opening up to different shapes and a cleaner palette. I guess the days of graphic tees are almost over. It's really great to see brands evolve.

ohhhh holy h&m.

Just spotted more pictures from H&M's Spring 2010 collection, only this time Swedish stylist and blogger Caroline got a peek into the retailer's main showroom to give us a look at accessories and other odds and ends not shown in the pictures I posted previously. Finally H&M seems to be getting on the four finger ring bandwagon, I've never been a huge fan of their accessories, but I'm impressed at how much their designs have grown in that area. Their starting to remind me of a cheaper version of Topshop, and that isn't a bad thing at all. Cheaper is always better when you're in the middle of a recession! [carolinesmode]

h&m spring 2010.

I don't even have much to say about these photos of what's to come from H&M this spring, but what I do have to say can be sum up in these four little words: CAN'T.F**CKING.WAIT. H&M gets it every time. There's so many things just in these stills that I can see in my closet. Best part about it, is that with H&M you can always predict the price points, and even their most expensive items are attainable. Those blazers will me mine! Spring can't come quick enough...

pepper & pistol is perfect.

I love Pepper & Pistol. I have a couple of their tops from sample sales, and I love them immensely. I just got a glimpse of their new Spring 2010 collection and it's pretty much perfect. Casual but with the possibility of being dressed up, structured, but not too stiffly, and the draping is impeccable. I'm especially excited about those leggings. How would you wear those? louis vuitton spring 2010 accessories.

I don't even vibe with Louis Vuitton all that much, I think the monogram can get a bit redundant, but I've got to be honest, their accessories for Spring 2010 are hot! I'm really impressed, what do you think? [style.com]

ksubi eyewear 2010.

Australian fashion label Ksubi released their 2010 unisex eyewear collection entitled "Book Club", and I have to say, I'm quite impressed. Not that I'm always disappointed in the brands offerings; it's quite the contrary. Although I'm not the biggest fan of their clothing, the guys know how to make a cool pair of shades. All frames are left unpolished and raw for a more modern touch, while others include digital printed leopard designs and layered color accents. Pretty cool, although the coke bottle frames remind me of the Chanel version with the half tint seen last spring on Mary Kate Olsen. Or maybe I'm crazy...[selectism]

acne 'pop classics' spring 2010 collection.

I've already expressed my deep distain for all things involving colder weather, so seeing this "lower priced" spring 2010 collection from Acne doesn't make my cabin fever any better. Pop Classics is the first full collection Acne's rolled that's supposedly on the affordable side, but I won't believe that until I see the numbers. Drawing inspiration from Neil Young's album "Harvest Moon", the collection is full of basics, and bold prints. I posted awhile ago the wedged sandals you see in the lookbook and a couple other Acne previews, but those leopard print oxfords are calling my name. Yessssss!

It's cold outside.

To some of you who live in America, and other parts of the world for that matter, it's not cold, but to a person who absolutely hates anything below 65 degrees, this is basically winter. The moment I'm able to see my breath clearly, we have a problem. It doesn't help much that in my inbox I get emails about various Spring 2010 shows filled to the brim with what will be hot next spring and summer. It makes me want spring and summer NOW, not 9 months from now.

Basso & Brooke who showed in London this year is just another reason why I want warmer weather right now. It's almost as good as Proenza Schouler. I only say almost because nothing is better than Proenza...some collections are close, but never get that cigar.

I've already expressed my intense fascination for all things having to do with Proenza Schouler, so this post shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. I'm in love with the brand. The above picture is a huge reason why, forever innovative with their shoe designs and always pushing the limit of what is perceived to be fashionable. I've got a year to save up some dough! Over the past few weeks there's been an ongoing tug of war between those in the fashion industry live for the ultra thin model and the ones that appreciate those of us who actually look normal. Designer Daryl Kerrigan seems to be one of those designers who embrace women in their natural state. For her Spring 2010 RTW look book she decided to promote the type of women who would actually wear her clothing, thus casting non models to wear her collection, sending out the message that even though we all aren't 5' 10" and a size 2 we can still be beautiful.

Making the ultimate come up since the brands inception in 1991, the Daryl K woman is the tattooed, the bold, and the brazen woman that isn't always embraced in fashion. She's the downtown chick with a bit of attitude, the type to tell you how she feels when she feels it, and doesn't take shit from anyone, a aesthetic you can see in Daryl K clothing.
