oh my gawd..| proenza schouler fall 2010.

I guess I should have known Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough of Proenza Schouler were taking us all back to school from the looks of their Pre-Fall collection, but I didn't know it would be like this. I'm officially in love. As of right now PS is the only brand that keeps me consistently engaged and inspired season after season. I love their updated version of the letterman's jacket. I love the leather detail. I love the baby doll dresses. I even love their beauty choices (dark lipstick is something I'm thinking about trying). And although I've never been a fan of high waisted denim ANYTHING, I've still got a bit of love left for the J Brand jeans they designed for next Fall. It's so perfect I could cry...

I tried to cram as many looks as I could into this one post, but if you love what you see there's more where this came from here --> [nymag]

This may be a bit unremarkable to the naked eye, but seriously, how many times have you forgotten to do simple things like check the expiration date on that bottle of ketchup in your fridge, take your vitamins, or just to simply say F#@k it. I use to write reminders to myself on little post-it's, but this looks way cooler. Thanks Erin Hanson!

you did that with a pencil?!

This is so cool. If you're creative enough you can make something out of nothing. Or in artist Maria Cristina Bellucci's case, out of jewelry out of colored pencils. This is quite possibly the greatest thing I've seen all year...yes, all 3 weeks of it. [thedonutproject]

knockoff's.

Photobucket
Fashionista does this thing called 'Adventures in Copyright' where they find knock off versions of designer shoes. I'm not entirely sure if this is to put the knockoff's on some sort of blast and try to discourage people from purchasing them in an effort to keep the designer shoes exclusive, but in my frugal mind, I'd be more likely to run and purchase the fakes.

What? you see the title of this blog...

Being that I get super giddy and obsessive over shoes, on my last visit to affordable shoe creator Steve Madden I spotted some of my own knockoff's. Steve is NOTORIOUS for recreating designer shoes and making them semi affordable for everyone to wear. Remember when Manolo Blahnik created those Timberland heeled booties JLo use to be seen in, and then within a month Steve Madden had a version everyone use to call the Man-No-No's? Perfect example.

Well this season Steve has decided to knockoff two pairs of shoes I will shamelessly be adding to my internet bag very soon. The Alexander McQeen Motorcycle Jacket bootie, and YSL's Aliama pump. Both of the designer versions will run you $600 and up while Steve Madden only charges about $129 - $159. Plus, if you sign up for Steve's random emails you can get in on some major sales only available if you shop online.

So which is it? The real or the fake?

happy birthday rio!

Photobucket

Hey Everyone! I love birthdays and I love the people in my life even more when they have them, so I normally try to give shout outs and lots of love during their day, especially when I can't be there to celebrate with them.

With that being said, send lots of love to my graffiti loving girl Rio!

my new bike.

Photobucket

I'm currently in the market for a new bike seeing as the weather here in Pittsburgh is pretty awesome these days. I live down by the baseball and football stadiums right on the three rivers trail, the perfect spot to bike ride and get some exercise. I tweeted about my need for a new retro riding bike to make all the other bike riders wet their pants with envy, and a pal of mine decided to reply to my tweet with these yummy Power Rangers inspired bike gear. How amazing would it be if I rolled around in this Power Rangers scooter with the matching helmet? AND the bike is a tricycle so I wouldn't have to worry about falling, but if I did fall my Red Ranger helmet would save the day! Total jealousy would ensue.

TOTALLY ON IT!

No, but seriously, does anyone know where I can get an affordable bike?

ladylike grunge.

Photobucket

I've been trying to figure out in my mind a way to incorporate florals with the grunge pieces I'm finding on a regular basis, and this picture via Style Sighting gives me great ideas. The shoes, dress, basically the entire look is epic. Love!
