Limited edition product from top designers is such a hit or miss with me. Unless I'm completely dedicated to that designer (Proenzaaaa!) I find that limited editions create unnecessary hype around products that are altered in the tiniest of ways. Plus it sucks when you wait until the product in question is released only to find after hours upon hours of waiting by your laptop to click that 'add to bag' button, your precious limited edition Nooka watch is already sold out. If by now your wondering have I ever experienced the aforementioned angst, you'd be correct. But I'm not bitter...Not at all...
Limited Edition Experiences is bringing heavy hitting fashion houses to the Miami Design District to present unique temporary stores, programming and events full of limited edition items from designers such as Billionaire Boys Club, Gucci, Christian Dior Homme, Neon Monster, and my all time favorite Proenza Schouler. Designers will present limited edition merchandise plus innovative programming that reflect their creative viewpoints. Stores open November 30th and will remain open through the fall/winter season. Captured above is one of the products Fendi will be selling. It's a Do-It-Yourself Fendi bag! [MDD]

vogue italia beauty editorial november 2009.
Such beautiful work by Emma Summerton for Italian Vogue November 2009. When editorials display women as strong vibrant creatures it makes me very happy. One of the best of this year, for sure. [coutequecoute]

amerie's personal style in elle magazine.
I love Amerie. She's refreshingly gorgeous, and never looks like she tries too hard to be beautiful, it just comes naturally. That's more than I can say for a lot of the regulars we see on gossip/fashion sites, on our televisions, and listen to in the music we hear everyday. Elle magazine recently sat down with the singer/songwriter to talk about her personal style and how she stays so flawless. The picture above is my favorite from the bunch with Amerie wearing a boyfriend shirt from designer Steven Alan, denim shorts, and Minnetonka fringe ankle boots, plus more from the shoot below. zara.zara.zara.zara.nuevo.
Zara just released ANOTHER look book, this time for their Nuevo line. I just can't get enough of Zara, seriously. I can't wait until they open their online store so I don't have to take random calculated trips to New York in order to shop. Can't.Wait. [facebook]
acne 'pop classics' spring 2010 collection.
I've already expressed my deep distain for all things involving colder weather, so seeing this "lower priced" spring 2010 collection from Acne doesn't make my cabin fever any better. Pop Classics is the first full collection Acne's rolled that's supposedly on the affordable side, but I won't believe that until I see the numbers. Drawing inspiration from Neil Young's album "Harvest Moon", the collection is full of basics, and bold prints. I posted awhile ago the wedged sandals you see in the lookbook and a couple other Acne previews, but those leopard print oxfords are calling my name. Yessssss!

preen line available @ net-a-porter.
Back in 2008 when Preen decided to create their more affordable diffusion collection Preen Line, I was super excited. For the resort collection online luxury retailer Net-a-Porter bought several exclusive pieces which have already sold out on it's site. Although the pieces are adorable (and I hate that word), the prices don't fall far from that expensive ass tree Preen and other labels hang from. One thing that's always confused me is when labels create diffusion lines with what they claim is affordable pricing, so that a wider variety of people can covet their clothing. What really happens is that the pricing turns out to be a couple hundred dollars less than their more expensive counter parts, so the same people who could afford the original brands clothing end up buying their diffusion lines. So to put it in words we all can understand: By creating diffusion lines with products only bought by the financially able, are luxury brands just creating OTHER luxury brands?
I love Preen and I love Preen Line, but these prices are outrageous. [net-a-porter]

hellz 'cult classics' holiday 2009 collection
I can't lie, I've been disappointed in the last couple collections from my favorite street wear brand Hellz Bellz, but the release of their holiday collection entitled Cult Classics has tremendously made up for past failures. Taking inspiration from the film "Heathers", the collection is dark with Hellz seemingly sticking to what it does best: creating amazing graphic prints and new shapes. Finally something to waste my money on. [whatthehellz, twitter]

written on the city.
Over by my house in Pittsburgh there's this old scary broken down building where I'm sure people once lived, but probably hasn't seen the light of a good day in at least 10 years. Other than broken windows and boarded up entryways the building is rather beautiful. A couple of months ago after going for a run I saw that someone had tagged the building with the phrase "abandoned, but still standing". It was small enough for you to see, but not large enough to be obnoxious, and totally got the point across.
When I found out about Written On the City, the project where people photograph and upload pictures of the messages written around their city, it reminded me of the abandoned building by my home and the message someone left on it. This blog is full of messages from around cities like San Francisco, San Paulo, and of course NYC, all with the intention of getting some sort of message to someone else. Some are funny, others make you think, but they all make me want to go searching for more messages in my own city.

basso & brooke spring 2010.
It's cold outside.
To some of you who live in America, and other parts of the world for that matter, it's not cold, but to a person who absolutely hates anything below 65 degrees, this is basically winter. The moment I'm able to see my breath clearly, we have a problem. It doesn't help much that in my inbox I get emails about various Spring 2010 shows filled to the brim with what will be hot next spring and summer. It makes me want spring and summer NOW, not 9 months from now.
Basso & Brooke who showed in London this year is just another reason why I want warmer weather right now. It's almost as good as Proenza Schouler. I only say almost because nothing is better than Proenza...some collections are close, but never get that cigar.
If you're interested in seeing more of what you can't wear now, and then shedding some cold tears like I did, head over to Coutorture for more.
