Joygasm!!!
One of the things that I hate most in the world is when I see something I like and can't buy it online. As much as I love fashion and all it's little components, I hate shopping and I hate malls. Since my laptop is almost guaranteed to be glued to my hand during 80% of my day, naturally shopping online is the most convenient way for me to obtain the things I want without having to do extensive research for them. For the longest time one of my favorite retailers H&M didn't sell their goods online, but according to Grazia that is changing. H&M recently announced that their merchandise will be online beginning Autumn 2010. That's a year away, but honestly I can wait. I've waited this long already, what's a year going to do.
Omg I can already see my bank account depleting...

liesbet bussche.
Liesbet Bussche is a genius. The Belgian artist takes urban spaces and makes them dazzle by adding large scale sculptures in the shape of jewelry pieces such as earrings, and necklaces to name of few. Concrete balls are made into earrings, sand is sculpted into necklaces, and caution tape is made of intricate beading. None of them hold a light to the name plate necklace. Nothing! [liesbetbussche]
the covet shop.
When I interned in San Francisco I lived two doors away from a Goodwill. Some of you may turn your nose up at this, but this Goodwill was beyond amazing. My first day walking through I bought a Oscar de la Renta pencil skirt, and a YSL bag all for $150. I don't even think I can BREATHE around a YSL bag for $150! As you can see, I'm a big fan of thrifting. Although I'm not as good at it as some of my friends (it's really a gift), I've come to appreciate the art of it all bit more. You can really find some amazing things in consignment shops if you have the time to search. I'm not a person whose patience is in tip top form, therefore my thrift shop hunts only occur once a season. For those of you like me who just don't feel like looking for treasure, there's still hope!
The Covet Shop is a high end consignment shop which launched about three months ago, specializing in rare vintage finds from big name designers like Gucci, Chanel, Yves St Laurent, and so on. Started by a fashion industry vet and her graphic designer of a husband, the website was created not only to make it a bit easier on those of us too lazy to search vintage shops, but also for consigners who want to make a little room in their designer filled closet by recycling their treasures essentially giving them a second life.
So the next time you don't feel like looking through a pot of crap for that one piece of gold, check out the Covet Shop. Oh, and make sure you get something for me as well. Just saying...

kweenz destroy.
Sometimes I think I'm losing it. I fall behind on so many things because my attention span is as big as a bite sized candy bar. One thing I'm very regretful on falling back from is my first love street wear. It's gotten a bit boring as of late, with the heavy hitters and some of my favorite brands producing extra wack designs that make me want to hide more than shop. I won't say names, but women's contemporary fashion is getting lame. Really lame.
But fear not, my eyes have seen the glory that is Kweenz Destroy! I use to blog for Kweenz back in the day (like 6 months ago) so the brand has a special place in my heart, a place that got 10 times bigger once I saw their Fall 2009 look book. It's so cute and fun, kind of makes me want to be a boss bitch....Hmmm

girl, you just can't win.
Lindsay Lohan just can't seem to win these days.
With one over publicized bisexual relationship down the toilet, a line of leggings named after Marilyn Monroe (6126 is her birthday), and a failed acting career under her belt, the tabloid darling just can't seem to catch a break these days. Well except for this big juicy one: French couture house Emmanuel Ungaro CEO Mounir Moufarrige woke up one sunny morning and decided that the 'troubled starlet' would make the perfect addition to the brand as none other than THE artistic advisor to it's newest head designer Estrella Archs, a woman known for her beyond impressive resume which includes Prada and her namesake label Estrella Archs.
Ok, so I get it. Celebrities obviously bring some sort of notoriety and publicity to a brand or product. THAT I totally get. What I don't seem to be able to wrap my head around is how someone like Lindsay Lohan can be given a job that not only requires her to be the face for the brand but also gives her veto power over all the designs. Not only does Leggings Lohan offer the band wagon of tabloids following her every waking move, but she basically gets to tell a TRAINED artist what the Ungaro collections will look like. To me, that's like asking a snail to do a dogs job. It just doesn't work.
For all of those asking the question of the week: WHY?!? Apparently Leggings was brought on, not only to bring a youthfulness to the brand, but also her merry band of media whores along for the ride. The job was turned down by the notorious Paris Hilton (thank the Lord), and was handed off to LaLohan after the Ungaro CEO came to her house and saw her room was filled with designer clothing all over the place (blank stare). I mean sometimes I wish Anna Wintour would bless me with her presence in my messy room and offer me a job at Vogue. But that would never and will never happen. GET.REAL.
Obviously I'm not the only person that feels this way. Yesterday the first Ungaro collection stomped down the runway during Paris Fashion Week, the first under Lindsay's command, and it wasn't received well by the snobby elite of the fashion world. Called "cheesy and outdated" by WWD, an "embarrassment" by FWD and a slew of other not so nice terms I'd rather keep to myself - let's just say that while LaLohan may think this is the best thing in the free world, the fashion elite is no closer to embracing her overly publicized presence.

models off duty.
Chanel Iman coming from Viktor Rolf and Sasha Pivovarova coming from Christian Dior (whose show was amazing btw). So pretty on the cat walk, but way more gorgeous off of it. [stockholmstreetstyle]

it's a balmain bonanza!
Where Jeremy Scott brought Bam Bam and Barney Rubble out of our televisions and onto the runway, Spring 2009's favorite shoulder pad provider Balmain is giving me jungle fever (I know that reference was a bit on the cheesy side, but I couldn't help it). Green, gold, black, and silver strutted down the runway in a collection of sexy dresses, sequined tanks with plunging necklines (I guess bra's are out next spring), and tee's that looked like they've been put through a garbage disposable. Not to be outdone by their last collection, you can be sure those shoulder pads you picked up at your local thrift store will be needed come spring 2010, only this season Balmain has seemed to tone down the trend they set.
Rihanna was in the front row looking very...Balmain-ish to say the least. Actually she looked rather stunning. I've got to give it to her (actually her stylist) she was one of the first celebrities seen wearing Balmain. I remember her in a lace shoulder padded top and the knee padded jeans, and more importantly the denim band leader jacket. After her the gaggle of stars followed suit and it's been shoulder pad city ever since!

kristen stewart interview magazine november 09.
I never really got everyone's obsession with Kristen Stewart. Other than her role in films like 'The Panic Room' (I love Jodie Foster), I didn't have much to go on in order to speak highly of her acting skills. I'll be honest, I saw Twilight a year late via the internet, thought it was weird and her performance was awkward. For me Kristen Stewart has always been this teen starlet and seeing as I don't pay much attention to those, she had never been on my radar. She's in the newest edition of Interview Magazine sporting a mullet and looking exceptionally awesome. I still think she's awkward, but on the bright side, she takes a remarkable photo. Right?
