I'm sitting here watching The Black Dahlia, and I'm barely paying attention to the plot of the film, what I'm paying attention to is the fashion. The movie takes place in the 1940s/50s, a time when old Hollywood glamour reigned supreme. It was the time of tiny waists, pencil skirts, and very ladylike silhouettes. I found this editorial awhile ago on Trend.land, shot by a favorite of mine Steven Meisel, with Viktoriya Sasonkina modeling for Vogue Italia back in 2008. It accurately depicts why old Hollywood glamour is a style still being sought after today.
