the magical $14,000 bag.

I've been lusting after these Proenza Schouler satchel bags for awhile now. Their often featured on e-retailers I can never afford (ahem Net -a- Porter), so I'd never give the prices a second glance. Unlike some, I'm smart enough to know and embrace that I have a very specific monetary limit when purchasing items I love/like/or need.

At first I thought: "a girl can dream.." until I looked at the prices on these bags. $14,500 for a crocodile satchel may seem like chump change for some, but for me it's INSANE. Even though the brown and black versions are substantially cheaper, (and a bit smaller) their prices are also a little steep on the pockets. If the Gods of retail ever smile upon me and decided to actually give my wallet the strength to withstand such a purchase, the entire time I'd have it I'd be thinking of all the other ways I could have spent $14,500. Or maybe I'm just cheap?

How much is just too much?

  1. I love Proenza Schouler, they are my favorite label by far.

BUT I would not pay 5-figures for a croc bag. I like to tell myself that one day if I actually had the money I could drop $2,000 on a handbag. But I don't think I could bring myself to spend $14,000 even if I had that to spend. It's ridiculous.
