horses. bacon. people's cartel, oh my!

[I would have written a longer post, but my lack of sleep is catching up to me. This was just too good NOT to write about.]

I thought this weekend was going to be so boring.
Boy, was I ever wrong.

Here's what went down:
My pal Derrick and I decided to explored the South Side in pursuit of hidden treasures that didn't involve alcohol.
We went into Decade, a boutique that has made me go broke plenty of times.
We found out that Roman the brain behind People's Cartel (favorite!) was screen printing custom shirts for $10.
We left, went to the Gap, and bought some tshirts.
I also found a pair of khaki's for $2.97 (total WIN.)
Went back to Decade.
Got a custom v-neck "I 'Steel' Pittsburgh" tee.

Then things got fun.

Derrick decided to ask Roman of PC if he'd make him two shirts.
One with a horse (no joke), because he happens to like horse shirts a lot.
And the other with the word 'Bacon' on it in honor of Pittsburgh's upcoming Bacon Bash.
After a little coaxing, and even more compliments Roman decided to do it.

Here are the results.
My weekend was awesome.

invisible for the last time.

I'm applying right now to be a Vibe Magazine intern and it got me thinking.

I've spent the last couple years of my life as a student working toward a dream I didn't take seriously. Writing has always been a hobby for me, something I love to do, but had no way of knowing if it was the right path for me to take. I had no idea that I could be successful at this craft. Writing and sharing my world on this blog and others have opened my eyes to what I'm capable of doing. I cannot express to you the joy I've found in doing what I love to do. It's invigorating and exciting.

I've had my share of ups and downs just like any other man or woman out in this world trying to make a name for her or himself, but right now I want/need a breakthrough in a major way. I'm hoping and praying that this is my big break. Getting this internship will open doors for me I previously never imagined me going through. I need this.

Ok. Rant over.
Lonely dreamer out...

this makes me a little sad.

Joe Budden & friends talk/argue about how much it costs to live comfortably in NYC.

This makes me a little sad for a couple different reasons:
1. Eventually I'd like to get a job and experience living in NYC only because I think it will be a nice life experience.
2. One of my customers just told me yesterday that she spent most of her time in New York grinding like a one armed slave just to make rent every month. She never really got to enjoy her time there.
3. Now I'm thinking about a different plan...

$5o,000 a  year will make you poor? WTF?

love it or hate it the underdog's on top.

I haven't been around for awhile...
& trust me when I tell you, nothing life altering has changed.

Which is something I'm not quite use too. Ever since I made the decision to transfer back home and finish school, my life has been drama free. It's so funny how once we become use to all the bullshit going on in our lives, when it ceases to exist, things become weird for us and sometimes we go out and seek that chaos. Well I think I'm just about finish seeking the chaos because it has no place in my world anymore. And that feels so good...

Went to Columbus this weekend to visit KP & Dani with mis chica Booty Meat (bait!). I had a good time seeing them, I'm certainly going to miss that portion of Kent next year. Anyhoo, I achieved my goal and had one more big 'pissy drunk' night before it was time to grow up. Met some nice people & some cool swagtastic Iota's who I was a little sketchy about at first, but turned out to be pretty cool men. All in all it was a terrific weekend. Check the pics...

peace & love.
